Police Officer Portal Software (POPS) History

Police Officer Portal Software (POPS) was inaugurated in 2017 for the Livonia Police Department with a primary focus on precise inventory management of individual officers' uniforms. Over time, this inventory system has evolved to encompass the meticulous tracking of weapon allocation history and qualification scores. Presently, we are in the process of integrating capabilities for monitoring the issuance and tracking of additional equipment such as radios, cell phones, gas masks, and more, specific to each individual officer.

POPS boasts a robust hierarchical security framework. Managers have the authority to review officers subordinate to their rank, while Rangemasters exclusively oversee weapon inventories and Quartermasters manage uniform allocations. Chiefs and other top-tier management personnel have privileged access to all departmental records pertaining to each individual Officer.

With POPS, you can gain access to a comprehensive historical archive of your department's officers and civilians. This encompassing system meticulously logs complaints, awards, counseling records, weapons, equipment, uniforms and orders. Critical information such as emergency contacts, family members of your officers, certifications, awards, and educational documents are seamlessly cataloged within each individual officer's historical dossier.

POPS tracks a journal history of each item assigned. Security levels allow you to set viewing permissions by rank and chain of command.

A sophisticated form system allows forms to be electronically approved by management and appear in an officer’s history.  It also tracks weapons inventory and range courses and scores. Notably, the qualification feature incorporates the capability to design courses for officers, managed by the Rangemaster, with corresponding scores recorded within the system. These records are seamlessly integrated into the comprehensive historical profile, known as the "Officer History."

All aforementioned features are fully operational and have demonstrated outstanding performance. Additionally, the latest addition to our repertoire is the dynamic forms system, which empowers users to create and manage various forms, including performance reviews, facilitating efficient electronic sign-offs and seamless integration into the designated officer's historical record. This versatile system can be adapted for any form, be it disciplinary, commendatory, or accommodation-related.
